Trip Update - Injections!

I popped down to the Doctors today to find out how many, and how expensive, injections I'd need would be. I am lucky in the sense that many of the injections I needed for Kenya are also needed for South Africa, and the injections last for a very long time!
Luckily (sort of) I only need the rabies jabs.. However I need 3, and they are £55(!!!!!) per injection so this will be a little pricey!
Wish my poor arm luck. Xxx

5 dy bean and rice challenge - day 5!!

IT'S THE LAST DAY!!!! Gsshrbkajuirebevagbd!

I had my last compulsary bowl of porridge this morning and fantasied about the idea of being able to put golden syrup in it next time!
I came back from work experience this morning and walked past two.backery's - both cooking cakes and.bacon butties!! Definitely legal torture. I got home and Mum went on to joking ask what I wanted for lunch... Beans and rice it was!
I am so excited to finish my dinner tonight knowing that tomorrow morning will be amazing!!!
Thanks for all the donations and the encouragement guys, you're all stars xxx

5 day bean and rice challenge - day 4

I am now 4/5 of the way though this challenge and it's so exciting, I can almost taste the chocolate!!
Meals were all obviously very similar to previous days and I was hardly hungry between meals so I am clearly getting use to it now!
As much as it has been an eye opener and a challenge, I am so excited to nearly be able to eat normally again!!
One day left guysssss.xxx

5 day bean and rice challenge - day 3.

I think my body is slowly getting to grips with this crazy - non intential -  diet. I wasn't hungry at all when I woke up, so I waited a little before having my porridge.
The day was harder than usual though as Rachel was off school ill today. This meant that as I was having rice and beans yet again for lunch, she was enjoying a ham and cheese panni! The smell was amazing. I have had an evening shift at work tonight (3-11) and so am certainly starting to feel the lack of food now! Especially a everyone else is tucking into a second meal..
Ahh well, I am over half way now and should be grateful that on Saturday I can go and enjoy a nice big meal!
3 days done, 2 to go!! Xxx

5 day bean and rice challenge - day 2

So day 2 started off better than day 1, simply because I knew what to expect. I was only working for 4 hours as well, which mean I had more energy!
I think my body is getting use to the meals because I don't remember feeling anywhere near as hungry as I did on day 1!
Mum and Dad are both doing it with me, and have already dropped a few pounds! Crazy stuff.
Carrie was eating chips in front of me at dinner which was agony so it's a good job I love her! Haha.xxx

5 day bean and rice challenge - day 1.

So I started the challenge today... Seemed pretty easy after breakfast - I only really missed my morning cup of tea!
I was in work today 8-6, and so it got much harder as the day went on!! Everyone else was eating lots of yummy foods and I was starving!!
Oh well... 1 day done, 4 to go!
Wish me luck. Xxx
Ps. Attached a picture of dinner, I was allowed 30g of sausage woo.

5 day bean and rice challenge - prep.

Sooo as a fundraiser I am starting the bean and rice challenge tomorrow! Mum and Dad said they'd do it with me so that mealtimes won't be torture!
I only realised how hard it will be when Mum was listing all the basics I can't eat, I just hadn't realised! No cups of tea, no milk, no fruit, no butter, no chocolate, no bread.. Nothing! Ahhh! It is literally going to be a bowl of porridge for breakfast and then two plates of rice with beans - one for lunch and one for dinner. What mare! However, for many people, actually being able to eat 3 meals a day is blessing in itself. So I guess in that sense I should be grateful, but I doubt I'll be think that by tomorrow evening....

Orientation.

So I just got home from the MOST AMAZING week away. I have been down in Wokingham, Reading, to meet all the awesome people taking part in Transform trips next year. I meet my team and we are all crazy, and awesome and so different, but so right for each other! I think South Africa will be so good!
We learnt all about culture, poverty, children safety, safe and secure travelling and integral mission, it has been so a busy, packed, worthwhile week!
Currently on such a high, and am so excited and looking forward to going away, it's less than 3 months and the idea of having to have everything sorted is slightly daunting, but bring it on.
Won't post this blog till I leave so, that's all for now my lovelies xxx
